About the event

Week One Ephesians

Paul’s letters are challenging. Paul asked God to help us understand the things of which he wrote.

Each day this week begin your time with God praying Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 1:17-20:

Glorious Father, give me a spirit of wisdom and revelation so that I might know Jesus better by understanding the truth Paul wrote in these letters. Enlighten the eyes of my heart that I may understand the hope of Your calling, see the wealth of Your glorious inheritance prepared for me and experience the greatness of Your power in my life. I ask these things confident in Your mighty strength, which I have seen, heard and need.

Finish your time reflecting on the supremacy of God in Ephesians 1:3-14.

Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavens in Christ. For he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless in love before him. He predestined us to be adopted as sons through Jesus Christ for himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace that he lavished on us in the Beloved One.  In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace that he richly poured out on us with all wisdom and understanding. He made known to us the mystery of his will, a according to his good pleasure that he purposed in Christ as a plan for the right time — to bring everything together in Christ, both things in heaven and things on earth in him.  In him we have also received an inheritance because we were predestined according to the plan of the one who works out everything in agreement with the purpose of his will, so that we who had already put our hope in Christ might bring praise to his glory. In him you also were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and when you believed. The Holy Spirit is the down payment of our inheritance, until the redemption of the possession, to the praise of his glory.

Week Two

Each day this week begin your time with God praying Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 3:16-21.

Father, every family in heaven and earth comes from You. Grant, according to the riches of Your glory, that I would be strengthened with power in my inner being through Your Holy Spirit. Jesus, I am know You dwell in my heart. Thank you that, as I live fully rooted and firmly established in love, I may be able to comprehend with all the saints the length, width, height and depth of Your love. Grant that I may experience Christ’s love, that surpasses knowledge. Grant that I may be filled with all Your fullness.

Now to You, the One who is able to do above and beyond all that I ask or think according to Your power working in me, to you be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and every. Amen.

Each day this week finish your time reflecting on the supremacy of God in Philippians 2:5-13.

Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore, God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
